Abstract

Diamonds are not forever. The supply of diamonds will eventually run out as with all nonreplenishable natural resource. The previous statement is only true if we assume that humans will not be on the Earth for millions of years to come. At the present day it is very hard, or near impossible, to make diamond carrying volcanoes to suddenly erupt. Diamond then is a very scare resource useful for those who want to break the bank for their demanding loved ones.

In Austrailia there exists a rather interesting mine called the Argyle mine. In its depth contains some of the most colorful diamonds of the world.

Diamond

The Hope Diamond is a good example of a very well cut and polished diamond.

This is just a regular diamond. It has not gone through any human processing of cutting, grinding, or polishing. Notice the difference in luster and reflection as well as the rough surfaces.
