• do a class exercise with USGS stream gage online mapping
  • GIS based? input US map of precip data for last month (separate map for each day??) input stream discharge for key locations (ex: Wolf River in 3 locations, compared to dammed and controlled Colorado River)
  • data here, ideas for class here
  • precipitation data for last month here
    • questions to ask: when is discharge highest? does it correlate to precipitation patterns? is there a difference between the Wolf River pattern inside the city vs. outside the city of Memphis? what might be causing any difference?
    • pull out data from GIS for Excel table - precip + discharge for each day - over 3 sites along Wolf River - plot the data for the last 30 days
