Goals:

remote sensing

• google maps for all major coastal features
  • sketch each feature and draw in currents/waves/process by which it forms
  • if global sea level rose by x amount, how would each coastline change? (use topo maps)
    • can we calculate from real data how much the ocean will expand due to heating vs. due to glacial melting?

experiments: probably no time to use

• experiment with beaches and water (wave tank):
  • summer depositional pattern
  • winter erosional pattern

• • could also use same tank to look at El Nino effects
