1. My Class Project as I see it now

I was just thinking of modelling floodplain inundation of a flood prone area. I would like to assess a filtered bare raster data and study the impacts of increased water flow/rainfall, increased gravels and sediment in the bed, increased slope, etc on the floodplain and on floodplain inundation. Then I would like to add buildings, vegetation and roads (as it is in the real world) and study the impacts of increased water flow/rainfall, gravels, sediment, slope etc on the floodplain inundation. My main objective would be to prepare a disaster map so that the same could be used in averting or reducing the amount of damage in case of floods.
This is what I see my project as of now. However I am open to discussions and suggestions. Please feel free to let me know your views what you think about my proposed class project.
