Student project

for my student project I want to model the movement of a saline wedge in a coastal aquifer following a major flood event. This model will most likely be two dimensional, laminar flow, and very basic unless someone slaps me with a smart stick. Ideally, I will use pulished data from the EPA website following Katrina but I haven't found this data yet so I may dig a little further back. Does this sound too simple...complex...or time consuming? I am a little apprehensive because I am still hypnotized by bouncing balls.
