Very intersting project!
Looks like you are off to a very good start. Though I haven't gotten near as far as you (I know what I want to do the project on) I would find it helpful to work together on a few things. A suggestion about the runoff model, perhaps you could use a previous model and just tweak it to be specific to your project. (ex. if the previous runoff model does not incorporate obsticals and your basin has large vegitation then that is something you can add to the old model.) Kstevens
I think that you should look at historical values to determine the amount of rainfall.JBateman
Yes indead very good idea for project. I think you can give me valuable suggestion regarding the modeling of erosion related with runoff. All the best for your project. --Ekta2 15:52, 4 Oct 2005 (CDT)
As you said... it's very similar to mine. I've done this in ArcMap and ArcInfo but for doing it in Python... I think you can help me with that. I like the rainfall modelling idea in your proposal and fully agree with Jeremy that you should also look at the historical values of rainfall. Best wishes. Mmihir
Would it be better to import the DEM directly rather than converting it in Arc?Rodney
Sounds interesting. I've never really done anything with runoff before but I think it would be neat to model in multiple rainfall events and maybe a few failed levees. dneilans
There are alot of variables to concider, rainfall amount, distribution of rainfall, and even civil engineering tpoics (storm drain clogging), I think that last one might fall out of the scope of the project. Good luckBrad
