Unscheduled Trip

Well, the event we had been waitin for occured last night. A rain storm came through and got the river up to 8 feet from 1 foot. It went from 100 cfs to 3000 cfs. This has quite effectively rearranged all of the sand bars.

The most important thing to collect this trip are some sediment samples. Samples were collected at mid channel as well as some on the old shore line. These will be used to determine the rate at which the silt is removed from the river bottom.

The river was really ripping through at 7:00 PM when we got to the river. It is now at 4 feet of water. I used a tie line to keep myself from being washed downriver. There is all kinds of "stuff" in here too.
