Weather log FAQ
From GeoClasses
- Do I have to use the website to record my log (why can't I just write it down)?
- Yes you must use the website otherwise a disaster might occur.
- How do I know it I've entered my log correctly?
- The log data entered so far will show up as a table at the bottom of the webpage. Double check the data you've entered.
- I made a mistake with an entry. How do I fix it?
- Just reenter the data for that particular day and the old data will be rewritten.
- I over-wrote the wrong day by accident?
- Don't do that. There is no way to recover over-written information. You may want to ocassionally print out the web page with your weather log so you can recover old information.
- On some of the days i have that it rained like 100+ mm but where i was it barely sprinkled so i put low in qualitative but a high number in quantitative- is that normal i just want you to know i know what they mean but the national weather service has it having rained a lot and i don't think it was a lot. does that make sense? i mean I'm just worried about you seeing certain info on here and thinking i didn't know the info and getting a bad grade.
- This is an excellent point and is why I have the comment box at the end of the form for you to explain any apparent discrepancies in the data you enter. It is also not too uncommon for there to be large variations precipitation over very short distances.
