Starting with the initial conditions when there is no gully and no runoff. There is accumulation of runoff on sloping ground. The erosion process will initiate with acculmulated water. There will be steep side walls and plunge pool with head ward migration. The shape of gully will be like bolbous head and narrow channel. There will be widening of gully with more erosion and widening of channel. After this there will be healing stage with no more erosion or very little erosion and gully starts to heal and there will be vegetation inside the gully.
